RCMS Group adds David C. Brownell to technology team of national certified BIM Consultants

Since 2003, RCMS Group (www.rcmsgroup.com) has partnered with AEC clients and building owners to produce and manage the elements that constitute a Building's Information Lifecycle through BIM, CAD production support and data management.

David Brownell has been fascinated with BIM relative to the business interactivity of design and construction since he first learned of it over seven years ago. David easily accepted the challenge with gratitude to become a BIM consultant when nationally recognized BIM experts RCMS Group were acquired in October 2009 by the American Reprographics Company, (www.e-arc.com), the parent company of Crest Graphics.

David’s strong technology passion and foresight with practical application makes him a perfect candidate to assist the AEC community of which he has served for over 28 years. David was the first person to become certified to promote RCMS Group’s services nationally and is their representative throughout the Northeast. He will still be working closely with Crest Graphics clients along with the broader AEC community of New England.

David supports and volunteers much time with many industry groups for the advancement of the AEC community of which includes Vice President of Professional Women in Construction – CT Chapter, Construction Institute, serving on the Program and Committee on Change (think tank) committees along with supporting AIA, SMPS, AGC, BIM Forum, ABC, DBIA et.al.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a design and construction delivery system continues to be a source of challenge for many designers, owners and general contractors. They are hesitant to take on something they perceive as being complex and requiring expensive software and a steep learning curve. That’s the perception; the reality is different; BIM does not have to be a source of anxiety. There are many ways to gradually incorporate BIM into your projects and now David can facilitate
that for you.

Members of the design and construction community are looking for ways to differentiate their firms and company in a very competitive marketplace. By leveraging technology and utilizing BIM practices, this can be achieved. Eliminating waste, improving communication and collaboration along with meeting construction schedules are just a few deliverables that will come from BIM . David will facilitate BIM coordination meetings, educate your team, present at client/owner presentations and will leverage technology for your competitive advantage.
